Zam-Zam water can be a medicine and according to the intention of the drinker

One of the wonders of the Zam-Zam well water that makes some experts confuse is that the water is inexhaustible, the reward is imported in very large quantities and is unrelenting. There is also another miracle of zam-zam water, this Zam-zam water can also be used for medical treatment. Curing various diseases can even fulfill various needs of human desires with the permission of Allah Ta'ala. Because Zam-Zam water is in accordance with what the drinker intended.

Zam-Zam water can be a medicine

Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said,

زَمْزَمُ لِمَا شُرِبَ لَهُ

"Zamzam water is in accordance with what the drinker intends". [1]

Tabi’s commentator, Mujaahid rahimahullah said,

ماء زمزم لما شرب له ، إن شربته تريد شفاء شفاك الله ، وإن شربته لظمأ أرواك الله ، وإن شربته لجوع أشبعك الله ، هي هَزْمة جبريل وسُقيا الله إسماعيل.

"Zamzam water is in accordance with what the drinker intended. If you drink it for healing, then God will heal you. If you drink it from thirst, then God will satisfy you. And when you drink it from hunger, God will satisfy you. He is Jibril's endeavor and the gift (drinking water) of Allah to Ishmael ". [2]

Ibnul-Qayyim rahimahullah, a cleric and doctor had proven the efficacy of zam-zam water to cure various diseases, he said,

وقد جرّبت أنا وغيري من الاستشفاء بماء زمزم أمورا عجيبة ، واستشفيت به من عدة أمراض ، فبرأت بإذن الله

"Surely I have tried it, so have others, medical treatment with Zamzam water is an amazing thing. And I recovered from various diseases with the permission of Allah Ta'ala "[3].

However, it should be noted that Zam-Zam water is also in accordance with the level of faith and good deeds of people who make it as medicine. If someone says,

"I've been drinking a few liters, but why don't I 'get well?'

So what is blamed is that person is not Zam-zam water. Let's look at an example, the Companion of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam treats scorpion stings only by reciting (ruqyah) Al-Fatihah only. Then heal like it's never been stung.

Here's the story.

عن أبى سعيد الخدرى أن ناسا من أصحاب رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- كانوا فى سفر فمروا بحى من أحياء العرب فاستضافوهم فلم يضيفوهم. فَقَالُوا لَهُمْ هَلْ فِيكُمْ رَاقٍ فَإِنَّ سَيِّدَ الْحَىِّ لَدِيغٌ أَوْ مُصَابٌ. فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ نَعَمْ فَأَتَاهُ فَرَقَاهُ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ فَبَرَأَ الرَّجُلُ فَأُعْطِىَ قَطِيعًا مِنْ غَنَمٍ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَقْبَلَهَا. وَقَالَ حَتَّى أَذْكُرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِىِّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم-. فَأَتَى النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ. فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهِ مَا رَقَيْتُ إِلاَّ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ. فَتَبَسَّمَ وَقَالَ «وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ أَنَّهَا رُقْيَةٌ». ثُمَّ قَالَ «خُذُوا مِنْهُمْ وَاضْرِبُوا لِى بِسَهْمٍ مَعَكُمْ»

From Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, that there was a group of companions of the Prophet-sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam- had been on a safar journey, then passed through an Arab village. At that time, they asked to be entertained, but the villagers were reluctant to entertain. The villagers then said to the friends who stopped by, "Are there any of you who can meruqyah because the village dignitaries are stung by animals or have a fever." Among the friends then said, "Yes there is." Then he came to the dignitary and he meruqyahnya by reading the letter Al Fatihah. the enlargement was healed. Then the one who read the ruqyah was given a goat, but he was reluctant to accept it -and mentioned-, he wanted to accept it until the story was told to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. Then he went to the Prophet sallallaahu aih alaihi wa sallam and told his story to him. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am not meruqyah except by reading the letter Al Fatihah." The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam then smiled and said, "How can you know Al Fatihah is ruqyah?" He also said, "Take the goat from them and cut it for me partially with you. "[4]

If there are people who are affected by the same disease stung by a scorpion or a lighter one such as being stung by a wasp, then someone who recites Al-Fatihah turns out not to recover. Then do not blame Al-Fatihah if it is not healed but blame the hands that are not proficient and hold the sharp sword sharply. If faith, charity and laughter are as good as Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri then we can expect the disease to heal.
